Las Vegas, Nevada (April 9, 2013)--Vince Coleman and Ozzie Smith combined for more than 1,300 stolen bases in their Major League Baseball careers, and over the weekend at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas, the duo added another 'steal' to the trophy case: a win at the 2013 Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational. The duo combined for a two-player team score of 11-under par, which included back-to-back birdies on 17 and 18 in the final round to snatch the title away from Wayne Gretzky and Ahmad Rashad, who bogeyed the final two holes. Las Vegas, Nevada (April 7, 2013)--The running joke for those fortunate enough to play Shadow Creek is that you never know who you will see on the course. And this week during the Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational (MJCI) in Las Vegas some of the biggest names in sport and Hollywood are playing for a good cause including the likes of Will Smith, Wayne Gretzky, Greg Maddux, and former Super Bowl Champion Jerome Bettis, a bruising running back with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Las Vegas, Nevada (April 2, 2013)--For the third time, the Michael Jordan Celebrity Inviational is being played at Shadow Creek and hosted by the Aria April 4-7. Some of the biggest names in show business will be playing golf at the course, partying at the resort, and raising funds for various charities. Among the celebrities scheduled to play is Las Vegas Golf Region resident Greg Maddux in addition to Jordan himself. The public is invited to attend and kids under 16 are free. Las Vegas, Nevada (Updated March 5, 2013)--Arguably the city of Las Vegas' biggest weekend of the year is here, and one of the first places to celebrate the annual NASCAR race was the Callaway Golf Center. The Center, located at the south end of the Las Vegas Strip, was the site of a closest-to-the-hole contest a couple weeks ago which involved NASCAR racing great Denny Hamlin. Hamlin and the rest of the NASCAR racers descend on the city this week, culminated by the staging of the Kobalt Tools 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. --By Brian Hurlburt

Las Vegas, Nevada via remote submission in La Jolla, California (August 9, 2012)--Las Vegas National Golf Club is about as historic as it gets in Las Vegas. A major championship on the LPGA Tour was held there, Tiger Woods played there en route to his first win on the PGA Tour, and in the hey day, the Rat Pack--Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., etc.--hung out at this Las Vegas resort course and in the clubhouse. Las Vegas, Nevada (July 22, 2012)--It all tracks back to Las Vegas at some point. And Ernie Els, the Open Championship winner, has some nice and noble ties to Las Vegas golf courses. Els has worked with Las Vegas Golf Region resident Butch Harmon, and annually holds his Els For Autism grand finale in Las Vegas.
