This course is affectionately dubbed Pinehurst in the desert, and is a Dye Designs International course that is tucked minutes away from downtown Las Vegas and the Fremont Street Experience. The course is a challenge off the tee, but each hole is a unique Las Vegas golf experience with holes shadowed by pine trees, and enhanced with tough and challenging bunkers. For the best results, many golfers choose to leave the driver in the bag on many of the holes, and play very strategic golf during the round. Mirror-image finishing holes are the cherry on the Desert Pines Golf Experience. The greens at Desert Pines Golf Club were recently redone and are now terrific bent grass putting surfaces. Four-time Cy Young Award winner and Las Vegas resident Greg Maddux recently played the course and wrote about it in VegasGolfer Magazine, calling it: “It’s a lot of fun. In fact, it might be the ultimate risk/reward course around”. He also wrote that the ninth and eighteenth holes are “great finishing holes and all of the par 5’s are a lot of fun.” Desert Pines is a Walters Golf property, joining Bali Hai Golf Club and Royal Links in the Las Vegas area. Special package deals are available if you tee it up at all of them, and Walters Golf is a leader when it comes to providing one-call golf packages. Desert Pines is also home to one of golf in Las Vegas’ best practice facilities that features automatic tees, lights and two tiers. Instructors from the Walters Golf Academy, led by the award-winning Mike Davis, are available for fine-tuning or in depth instruction. Official Desert Pines Golf Club website
