The Transatlantic Golf Challenge is an annual event, now in its 9th year, that brings 24 golfers from the UK to experience Las Vegas golf courses, and to compete against 24 Las Vegas golfers. The Las Vegas team, made up of local business leaders and golfers, beat the UK team, to retain the Transatlantic Cup, and take a 5-4 lead in the annual matches.
The Transatlantic Golf Challenge is an initiative of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, and is designed, through a year-long contest and qualifying system in England, Ireland and the Scotland, to promote Las Vegas golf courses to those "golfers across the pond." More than 7,000 golfers attempt to qualify for the UK team, and local, regional and national qualifiers are played.  Bali Hai The four courses played during the week are Royal Links Golf Club, Bai Hai Golf Club, Desert Pines Golf Club and Stallion Mountain Country Club. The event is also sponsored by News of the World, Hertz, Yash, the Luxor Hotel, Walters Golf, and GlobalGolfers.com.
