Las Vegas National Golf Club, one of three Las Vegas golf courses managed by Harrah's Entertainment, is located just a "Driver and strong 3-wood" from the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, and is one of the most historic Las Vegas golf experiences. But while the course management embraces this past, it looks forward to the future and has captured what it believes to be the essence of golf and Las Vegas--FUN. The launch of LasVegasNationalGC.com truly reveals how the fun and excitement of Las Vegas is embedded within the Las Vegas National golf experience. The course, built in 1961 by the movers and shakers in Las Vegas, has hosted several PGA Tour tournaments, including the 1996 Las Vegas Invitational where Tiger Woods earned his first PGA Tour title, and major championships on the LPGA Tour, among other big-time events. "Las Vegas National Golf Club was established in 1961 and is classic and timeless in design and you will find no desert golf here," says Scott Greer, veteran Las Vegas PGA of America Professional and General Manager. "The only rocks you will find on the property are at the bar in our cocktail glasses. Right now we are introducing the New/Old Las Vegas National Golf Club, and this is the FUN place to play golf in Las Vegas. We're the closest golf course in relation to the major Las Vegas hotels which is under $150 to play, and a cab ride usually costs under 10 bucks from the Strip. If you want FUN golf while in Las Vegas, this is the place to play. We're serious about our FUN." Part of the fun at Las Vegas National Golf Club is the dedication to keeping up a quick pace of play. Course officials offer some tongue-in-cheek steps taken to remedy slow play (rocket boosters in each cart, armed course marshals), but they are seriously dedicated to the 4 hour, 30 minute round. Those that finish in the allotted time are rewarded with a free hot dog and beer or soda. The other Harrah's Las Vegas golf courses are Cascata and Rio Secco Golf Club.
