Craig Barlow grew up in Henderson, A Vegas suburb for you visitors, playing courses like Boulder City Golf Club, Black Mountain Golf and Country Club, and Sunrise Country Club (now Stallion Mountain). His Dad is still a member at Black Mountain. But a recent article in Las Vegas Weekly, the alternative news weekly of Las Vegas, reveals that Barlow isn't the most famous person of his family. That honor now goes to Brandon Flowers, the lead singer of The Killers. Flowers is Barlow's cousin and also lives in Las Vegas, and at one time had aspirations of being a professional golfer himself. The Killers are the biggest act ever to come from Las Vegas, and their recent record was called Sam's Town, in deference to the hotel where Flowers sometimes used to hang out.

Barlow is a seasoned-veteran on the PGA Tour, and now plays out of the prestigious Reflection Bay Golf Club at Lake Las Vegas Resort. But he has played many of Las Vegas' best courses including Rio Secco Golf Club, Cascata, Las Vegas National Golf Club, Shadow Creek, TPC Canyons, TPC Summerlin and many others.

Flowers is 10 years younger than Barlow, but when he was a student at Chaparral High School he had aspirations of becoming a professional golfer just like Barlow. But music tugged at him, and he blossomed into one of music's most important stars, even sharing the stage with the likes of U2 frontman Bono. He has boasted that The Killers will become one of Rock and Roll's most important bands.

"Brandon always used to be quiet, humble, hard-working and in love with what he did," Barlow told Las Vegas Weekly columnist Josh Longobardy. "I was proud of him then, and I'm proud of him now. When I see him now I don't see a rock star; I see my cousin."

As of February 20, Barlow was number 120 on the PGA Tour money list with earnings of about $50,000.
