March 29, 2007--UNLV freshman Natasha Krishna was part of New Zealand team that finished fourth in the 29th Queen Sirikit Cup for the Amateur Ladies Asia-Pacific Invitational Golf Team Championship in 2007 which was played in the Philippines.

Korea won the tournament with a three-round score of 414 (-18), followed by the Phillipines (434, +2), Japan (435, +3) and then New Zealand (441, +9). The Queen Sirikit Cup featured teams from 14 Asia-Pacific countries including Australia, China, Japan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and New Zealand.

Krishna finished 25th as individual with a three-round score of 236 (+20), shooting rounds of 80, 75 and 81 in the tournament. So-Yeon Ryu of Korea won medalist honors by carding a 204 (-12) on the country club course.

"I am sure Natasha did not play as well as she liked, but anytime you can represent your country it has to be a great experience,” UNLV head coach Missy Ringler said. “We look forward to having her back with us."

As a junior Krishna won the Greg Norman Junior Masters, and also won the New Zealand Under 21 Championship. She was the first KiWi since 1993 to win the Norman event.

The New Zealand team consisted of Krishna, Dasom Lee and Penny Smith with Libby Steele serving as the team manager and New Zealand Golf president Patsy Hankins the delegate.
Krishna and her Rebel teammates’ next collegiate tournament is the Ping/ASU Invitational, March 30-April 1 in Tempe, Ariz.
