Rio Secco Golf Club April 26, 2007--Three prominent Las Vegas amateur golfers have successfully brought the Medalist Golf Association of Nevada (MGANV) to the area, giving the very top level amateur players a new tour on which to test their skills. The Medalist Golf Association of Nevada will play many of the best golf courses in the Las Vegas golf region and others in the southwest, and renowned amateurs will compete against each other at the highest levels. All of the MGANV events are designated points events that qualify individuals and/or teams to play in elite nationally-recognized amateur tournaments as well as identify players to be invited to the season ending Tournament of Champions at the Champions Golf Club in Houston, TX. The Medalist Golf Association originated in Houston as the brainchild of the legendary Jackie Burke, Jr. and his son Mike Burke. Locally, Frank Acker, Craig Junio and Steve Fink have brought the MGANV to Southern Nevada.
Las Vegas golf courses that will host 2007 events include Rio Secco Golf Club, Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort--Wolf, TPC Summerlin and Reflection Bay Golf Club. The LV Paiute Classic is the next event, May 5-6. MGANV LV Paiute Official Sign Up.
