The Medalist Golf Association of Nevada (MGANV) is a non-profit sports association incorporated in the state of Nevada that provides low handicap amateur golfers the opportunity to play in the individual scratch medal play golf tournaments. The MGANV will play manhy of the best golf courses in the Las Vegas golf region and others in the southwest, and renowned amateurs will compete against each other at the highest levels.
All of the MGANV events are designated points events that qualify individuals and/or teams to play in elite nationally-recognized amateur tournaments as well as identify players to be invited to the season ending Tournament of Champions at the Champions Golf Club in Houston, TX. The Medalist Golf Association originated in Houston as the brainchild of the legendary Jackie Burke, Jr. and his sone Mike Burke. Locally, Frank Acker, Craig Junio and Steve Fink have brought the MGANV to Southern Nevada. Members of the Medalist Golf Association must carry a 5 handicap or less, and they will compete for gift certificates, but the prized award is a special red head cover that the champion carries until he passes it on to the next champion. Southern Nevada Golf Hall-of-Famer Brady Exber won the inaugural MGANV event played at the Black Mountain Golf an Country Club. You can become a member of the MGANV for only $100 that gives you discounted entry fees into the tournaments. Official Golf Las Vegas Now Calendar of Las Vegas golf Events with MGANV dates.
