Birdie Barrages Lead Las Vegas Golfers to Big Finishes at Memorial |

June 4, 2007--Adam Scott kicked off the scoring barrage at the PGA Tour's Memorial by flirting with a score of 59, and recording eight birdies in nine holes during one stretch. Unfortuntately, he couldn't capitalize on his second-round 62 and fell back, finishing in a tie for fifth place. But fellow UNLV Rebel star Ryan Moore used some Scott magic to birdie five holes in a row on the back nine on Sunday to catapult to a runner-up finish and earn $648,000 for his troubles. Moore made the field as an alternate, and the event marked the third time in his short career that he has finished in second place, but it was his best finish in 2007. Final scoring ... now.
Moore has played many Las Vegas golf courses including his home course of Southern Highlands Golf Club. While at UNLV he was the 2004 US Amateur and NCAA champion. Scott is one of the world's best players, and will be a favorite heading into the US Open at Oakmont.
