June 29, 2007--What's in the bag? What's he hitting? What degree is the driver? All of these questions usually come up during a round of golf played with your friends, and usually they go through your mind when your watching the action unfold on television. Well, recently, former Univiersity of Nevada, Las Vegas golf four-time All-American Chris Riley won the Rochester Area Charities Showdown on the Nationwide Tour, and PING golf equipment was all over his bag. He was nearly PING head to toe, save for his feet, hands and golf ball. Riley's golf weaponry included the PING G5 driver, 10.5 degrees; a PING Rapture 3-metal; PING Rapture 18 degree hybrid; PING G5 22 and 25 degree irons; PING i5 4-iron through pitching wedge; PING iwedge, 54 degrees; PING Eye2 lob wedge; and a PING Anser putter. He used a Titleist Pro V1x golf ball, and wore Footjoy shoes and golf glove. The win moved Riley within the Top 25 on the Nationwide Tour money list, and allows him the opportunity to regain full playing prvilileges on the PGA Tour in 2008.
Riley was the first athlete in UNLV history to earn All-American status in all four years, and while at UNLV enjoyed the practice facilities available to UNLV players. At the time, their home Las Vegas golf course was Shadow Creek, but they enjoyed access at other Las Vegas golf courses including Las Vegas Country Club, TPC Summerlin, TPC Canyons, Spanish Trail Country Club and many more. Official Las Vegas golf courses golf package and vacation information ... now. For the last few years, Riley's game has struggled while his family life blossomed. He is the father of two young children, and the balance of fatherhood and golf has thrown him for a loop, but the Nationwide Tour win this year is a sure sign that he is back to his old playing ways. He won the 2002 Reno-Tahoe Open, and was a member of the US Ryder Cup team.
