Las Vegas Golfer Tommy Armour III Has Shot of Day at Turning Stone--Video Here |

September 24, 2007--Tommy Armour III, who grew up in Las Vegas and attended Bishop Gorman High School, had the shot of the day en route to a final-round 68 at the Turning Stone Resort Championship. He finished tied for 5th with fellow Las Vegas golfer Charley Hoffman, who was a member of the 1998 UNLV Golf National Championship team. Both earned $203,400. Armour III knocked in about a 90-yard wedge at the par 5, 18th hole for eagle. Click here to view the video that is posted at PGATOUR.com now. The other three Las Vegas golfers who made the cut (9 total started the week) were Alex Cejka (53), Chad Campbell (T54) and Robert Gamez (T57).
Armour III said he had worked on his wedges the whole week, and was excited about his top five finish. The finish jumped him from 117th on the PGA Tour money list up to number 98. Hoffman has won more than $1.5 million this year and stood 47th on the PGA Tour money list following the event. Many of the Las Vegas golfers will be on hand for the FRYS.com Open Benfiting Shriner's Hospital for Children that will be played October 11-14 at Las Vegas golf courses TPC Summerlin and TPC Canyons.
