Rhodes Ranch, Tuscany Courses Part of Las Vegas Golf Authority |
April 29, 2008--Two very enjoyable golf courses in Las Vegas are Rhodes Ranch Golf Club and Tuscany Golf Club. These Las Vegas golf courses--both Ted Robinson designs--boast his typical, playable style: wide fairways and large greens, plus very few forced carries and beautiful water features. But be careful, the par 3's are a challenge, and you'll need to pay attention to ball position. Both Rhodes Ranch and Tuscany are part of several other Las Vegas golf courses that can be found at lasvegasgolfauthority.com, a website operated by the PGA of America pros who manage the Las Vegas golf courses. You can book Las Vegas golf tee times online, view photos, and best of all you will be dealing directly with each golf course, therefore guaranteeing the best Las Vegas golf rates and vacation information. As the site says, "Don't gamble with your golf in Las Vegas." |

Las Vegas Golfers Adam Scott, Ryan Moore--former Rebels--Duel in PGA Tour Playoff |
April 28, 2008--Ryan Moore was what Adam Scott could've been had he elected to finish out his entire collegiate golf career at UNLV instead of only playing for 1.5 seasons under Hall-of-Fame coach Dwaine Knight. But Scott (pictured) is what Moore aspires to be now that both are PGA Tour players. Scott--so far--has accomplished much more as a professional. Over the weekend, Scott held on in a playoff at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship in Texas to prevent Moore from earning his first professional victory. For Scott, it was win number six on the PGA Tour, and increased his career earnings to $17.9 million. Moore has earned "just" $4.2 million. But in college, Moore won every tournament that mattered in 2004 (the U.S. Amateur, U.S. Public Links, NCAA Championship, Western Amateur and Sahalee Players Championship, etc) and left UNLV the following year as the best Rebel ever, and as one of the best college golfers in history. But now he plays for cash and wants to reach Scott's pro level. Read on for complete post-round quotes from both Scott and Moore. Each played and practiced at many of the best Las Vegas golf courses while at UNLV. |

UNLV's Eddie Olson Wins Conference Crown; Team Finishes Fifth |
April 26, 2008--The UNLV Rebel golf team finished fifth at the 2008 Mountain Conference Golf Championships, but sophomore Eddie Olson (pictured) won the tournament, and three Rebels were named to the All-Conference Team. Joining Olson--who fired a three-round total of 4-under par, 209 to win by three strokes--on the team were junior Seung-Su Han and senior Matt Kinsinger. The Rebel team led after round one of the tournament, but struggled to finish, something that usually doesn't happen to the team. UNLV Head Coach Dwaine Knight jnstills in his team that the final round should belong to the Rebels, but in this event the team shot a combined 292 total, good for only the sixth-best round of the day. The Rebels will learn their NCAA Regionals slot on Monday, May 5. Han and UNLV's Brett Kanda finished tied for 10th. |
