Las Vegas, Nevada (September 27, 2011)--There are plenty of PGA Tour pros with strong ties to Las Vegas golf courses in the field this week at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals For Children Open. And several of those Las Vegas golfers are at the top of the official Las Vegas golf betting odds as released by Las Vegas' GolfOdds.com. Nick Watney opened as the favorite at 10/1 followed by Ryan Moore at 12/1. --By Brian Hurlburt, Odds by Jeff Sherman.
"Nick Watney is the clear favorite and heads a list of golfers with ties to the community," says Las Vegas Hilton Superbook assistant manager Jeff Sherman. "Ryan Moore, the second choice, Charley Hoffman, Chad Campbell and Scott Piercy, each opening at 30/1, among others should be in contention come Sunday based on the odds list. Other golfers to keep an eye on this week include past champion George McNeill, with his stellar course form, and John Mallinger, who has been consistently at the top of the Nationwide tour the past month. This tournament has had its past wagering success with long shots so don't overlook a "field" price if you think value exists." The field opened at 9/4.

PGATour.com Power Rankings guru Rob Bolton also has Watney and Moore as the two favorites, but he lists Moore, a 4-time All-American at UNLV, at the top. He writes the following about Moore's chances: "The UNLV product sneaks in following a pair of top-20s at the Deutsche Bank and BMW. Shared the field-low in the final round at Cog Hill with a 66. He's 5-for-5 at the JT Shriners with a T7 in his last appearance in 2009. Ranks 32nd in adjusted scoring."
