Presidents Cup Las Vegas Golf Betting Report: Internationals Now Favored

Las Vegas, Nevada (November 15, 2011)--It is time for the Presidents Cup 2011. And according to the official Las Vegas pro golf betting experts at GolfOdds.com, the International side is now a -120 favorite against the United States team that has been hit with injuries. The U.S. team was originally a -145 favorite (they are now even) of the event that kicks off this week at Royal Melbourne Golf Club. --By Brian Hurlburt, odds by Jeff Sherman.

"I opened the USA -145, and now the International team is -120, partly because of injuries that Stricker and Mahan are dealing with and the good form of the International players as of late," says Las Vegas Hilton Superbook Asst. Director Jeff Sherman. Team events are tough as more variables come into play when handicapping. The singles matches are always the most popular of the formats utilized, bringing simplicity back to handicapping and the singles are at the conclusion of the tournament where the winner is most often decided."

But PGATour.com Power Rankings expert Rob Bolton is picking the U.S. team to win 18-16. He came out with a list of the players as well. Charl Schwartzel and Nick Watney are listed one and two. Tiger Woods is 10th and Phil Mickelson is 13th.

Bolton states the following about the event: "The Americans have the customary edge in distance off the tee so expect Norman to manipulate a setup that will penalize the longest drives. A total of 200 bunkers will also add to the test, particularly around putting surfaces. Depending on one's perspective, it might appear that greens will feature infinite edges since the grass will be cut extremely low at the border of the bunkers. This will force a premium on approach shots. Meanwhile, Bentgrass greens will roll at 12 on the Stimpmeter, a feature that will favor full-timers on the PGA TOUR regardless of nationality."
