Las Vegas, Nevada (November 29, 2011)--Tiger Woods is favored in the opening Las Vegas golf betting odds to win his own event, the Chevron World Challenge. Tiger played well at the Australian Open and as part of the victorious United States Presidents Cup team. As such, Las Vegas' GolfOdds.com opened him as a 3/1 favorite to win. --By Brian Hurlburt, odds by Jeff Sherman.
"Tiger's strong play in the Australian Open and the Presidents Cup has brought him back to familiar territory as the 3/1 favorite to win the Chevron World Challenge this week," says Jeff Sherman, the founder of Las Vegas' GolfOdds.com. "All other golfers are double digit odds. His recent play also slashed his 2012 Masters odds from 12/1 to 6/1, making him the favorite ahead of Rory McIlroy at 10/1. Tiger continues to get supported in every tournament he plays and if he can improve his putting woes it will make the support that much more justified."

Tiger lost in a playoff in 2010 to Graeme Mcdowell. It was one of his few good chances to win over the last 24 months or so. Tiger is the host of the tournament. ODDS below courtesy of GolfOdds.com. Webb Simpson is listed at 10/1.
