December 18, 2009--Amongst the chaos that is the Tiger Woods story, there is some craziness that it is bringing to Las Vegas sports books and their golf wagers. According to Jeff Sherman, a leading authority on golf betting odds, he has closed action on some Tiger future props. A golf bet still available, however, is you can still bet on Tiger (7/2) to win the 2010 Masters, but be warned, that bet is action whether Tiger plays or not.

December 7, 2009 (UPDATED Dec 8) --Even though the official PGA Tour season ended a long time ago, there are still major golf events being played and Jeff Sherman at Las Vegas' GolfOdds.com continues to post the Las Vegas golf betting odds. This time, the Shark Shootout is up and Las Vegas golfer Chad Campbell along with teammate Tim Clark (6/1) are just behind Ross Fisher and Ian Poulter (9/2) as the golf betting favorites.

December 1, 2009--Tiger Woods opting out of the Chevron World Challenge tournament has opened up the doors for several other PGA Tour players to lead the Las Vegas golf betting odds, highlighted by Lee Westwood who opened as the favorite (6/1) after Tiger departed.

November 17, 2009--The Dubai World Championship tees off this Thursday and Las Vegas' GolfOdds.com shows young gun Rory McIlroy as an 8/1 favorite to win this European Tour golf tournament. The event is being played at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, United Emirates. A special note is that wagering will close at 11 PM, November 18, due to the time difference. Other favorites in the field are Martin Kaymer (12/1), Ernie Els (15/1), Padraig Harrington (15/1), and Lee Westwood (15/1). Las Vegas golfer Adam Scott is 30/1 while the field is 15/1.

November 10, 2009--Las Vegas' GolfOdds.com, headed by Las Vegas Hilton Superbook Assistant Manager Jeff Sherman, has released the golf betting odds for the PGA Tour's Children's Miracle Network Classic (CMNC) in Florida, plus bonus odds for the JBWere Masters in Australia, where Tiger Woods is scheduled to play this weekend. Zach Johnson and Justin Leonard ar 15/1 to win the CMNC, while Woods is +150 to win. Las Vegas golfers Ricky Fowler (25/1), Scott Piercy (40/1), Dean Wilson (100/1), and Chris Riley (60/1) are also playing in Florida. 

November 3, 2009--The World Golf Championships HSBC Champions event tees off November 5 at Sheshan International Golf Club in Shanghai, China, and Tiger Woods is a 7/4 favorite to win the golf tournament, followed by Phil Mickelson at 12/1, in the golf betting odds released by Las Vegas' GolfOdds.com. The two go against each other for the first time since the PGA Tour's TOUR Championship, where Mickelson earned an impressive victory, but Woods collected the season-long FedEx Cup trophy. Mickelson works on his swing with Las Vegas resident Butch Harmon, who operates the Butch Harmon School of Golf at Las Vegas resort golf course Rio Secco Golf Club.

October 27, 2009--They are both now official Las Vegas golfers, and they have each lost a PGA Tour event via a sudden death playoff in the last two weeks. But now they share something pretty much in common: one is the odds-on favorite to win the PGA Tour's Viking Classic, while the other is near the top of the betting odds very early in his career. Former UNLV All-American Chad Campbell, who narrowly lost Las Vegas' Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open is 15/1 to win, while new Las Vegas resident Ricky Fowler, who was edged in last week's FRYS.com Open in Arizona, is listed at 25/1, in only his third event as a pro on the PGA Tour. October 21, 2009--The PGA Tour Fall Series continues at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona, with the playing of the Frys.com Open, and several Las Vegas golfers are listed among the favorites in the Las Vegas golf betting odds released by GolfOdds.com. Mike Weir is the favorite at 15/1 but former UNLV Rebels Chad Campbell and Ryan Moore, who both were in contention at Las Vegas' Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, are listed 25/1, the fourth lowest number in the field. Las Vegas resident and former Rebel Charley Hoffman is at 30/1 while new Las Vegas resident Ricky Fowler is at 40/1. Timberlake champ Martin Laird is at 40/1.

October 12, 2009--Jim Furyk has won a PGA Tour event in Las Vegas three times, and is scheduled to tee it up Thursday in the first round of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in an attempt to add another victory. And Furyk has been installed as a 10/1 golf betting favorite by GolfOdds.com to claim the trophy at the end of this Las Vegas golf tournament. Fellow United States Presidents Cup team members Hunter Mahan and Anthony Kim are listed at 20/1. The Las Vegas PGA Tour event kicks off with a Celebrity Pro-Am on Wednesday with such names as Natalie Gulbis, Kenny G, Timberlake, and others scheduled to play.
