October 16, 2007--It seems like yesterday that the Golden Bear Jack Nicklaus was piled into an SUV, en route to a barren, desert hillside that was to be the future site of Reflection Bay Golf Club, his first resort golf course in Nevada. In reality, it was more than a decade ago, and his vision that day helped create one of the most beautiful Las Vegas golf courses ever created. Reflection Bay Golf Club features five holes that dance along the shores of Lake Las Vegas, but the course just might be defined the holes that play in and through the desert canyons above the homes, resorts, shops and everything else that is Lake Las Vegas Resort. Local PGA Tour player Craig Barlow lists the par 5, 15th hole as his favorite, and Nicklaus says his favorite is the par 4, 7th. The 7,261-yard, par-72 award-winning course makes its way through the desert while providing breathtaking views of Lake Las Vegas. Sculpted from the terrain's natural contours with strategic bunkering and pristine greens, the course features three waterfalls and plays around arroyos and water.
Five holes are located along one and a half miles of Lake Las Vegas' majestic shoreline. Reflection Bay highlights include the picturesque 199-yard, par-3 eighth hole and beaches, bunkers and palms that create a dynamic shoreline and backdrop. |
