 November 9, 2007--Seemingly on a daily basis, the world's most famous people tee it up on the best Las Vegas golf courses. They are just like you; they take a Las Vegas golf trip and enjoy hitting it around our many Las Vegas golf layouts. And now Golf Digest has released its "Hollywood 100" list of celebrity golf handicaps, and several with Las Vegas golf ties top the list, most notably by DragonRidge Country Club (a private Las Vegas golf course) member Kevin Sorbo, who ranks 13th on the list with a handicap of 7.2. Sorbo has teed it up at many Las Vegas golf courses and once lived on Rio Secco Golf Club (pictured) before moving back to California. Other golfers with ties to Las Vegas golf courses include James Caan, DL Hughley, Ray Romano, Kevin James, John O' Hurley, George Clooney and Josh Duhamel. For more ...
Caan (21st, 8.2) was played the lead role in the hit NBC series 'Las Vegas' until this season, and was featured recently as the cover boy for VegasGolfer Magazine. Duhamel (63rd, 16) still stars on 'Las Vegas'. Hughley (37th, 10.8) plays in 'Studio 60' but also is a frequent comedian headliner here in Las Vegas. On a trip last year he played Las Vegas golf course Reflection Bay Golf Club and also Bali Hai Golf Club. He flew all night to make the tee time at the Nicklaus-designed Reflection Bay, and then performed later that night at the Orleans Hotel. Romano (42nd, 11.6), James (67th, 17.9) and Garrett (92nd, 30) have also been featured by VegasGolfer Magazine and are featured headliners at The Mirage. They use that gig to gain access to Shadow Creek, one of the world's finest golf resorts. But back before super stardom, Romano would pass his time during the day at Las Vegas golf courses like Painted Desert Golf Club and Angel Park Golf Club before hitting the comedy clubs at night.
O' Hurley (44th, 12) recently starred in Spamalot! at WYNN Las Vegas, and teed it up at the Tom Fazio-designed Las Vegas WYNN Golf and Country Club. And Clooney (68th, 18) has starred in the epic 'Oceans' movies set in Las Vegas, and is currently linked romantically to former Las Vegas cocktail waitress Sarah Larsen.
