February 9, 2008--The world's number one golfer teacher, Butch Harmon, is dedicated to giving back to the game of golf through many ways, and one of those is by staying dedicated to the Butch Harmon Vegas Tour, a mini tour that annually plays on some of the best Las Vegas golf courses. And this year the new Winter Series is being played with 10 events at courses like Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, The Revere Golf Club and Royal Links Golf Club. Through three events, John Passmore is the leading money winner with $15,8000 earned by winning two of the three tournaments. Henderson resident and former PGA Tour pro Jeff Gallagher is in second with $10,325 after winning the first event at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort. The Harmon Vegas Tour is open to professional golfers over the age of 18 and amateurs with a handicap of no more than an index of two. There are season memberships in addition to weekly openings available. "I have been very impressed with the level of competition among our BHVT members," writes Harmon. "I enjoy going out to the events, watching quality shots and seeing how the players respond in the tournament atmosphere." Gallagher also bested the blustery conditions during the tournament.
Passmore is a combined 16-under par in his two victories. He beat Travis Whisman by three shots to win $7,800 at Boulder Creek Golf Club, and nipped Cole Nondorf by a stroke at DragonRidge Country Club to earn $8,000.
