Pete Dye's Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort Full of Beauty, Good Conditions, and Challenge Print E-mail

Image September 7, 2008--Pete Dye twirled his design magic three times at the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, Las Vegas golf's only 54-hole golf facility that is home to the Snow Mountain, Sun Mountain and The WOLF Las Vegas golf courses, all designed by the legendary Dye. The Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort is located about 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, a few miles outside the northwest area of town, but because of the distance away, these courses are set in a pristine and quiet setting. There are no houses to be seen, and it's just you, your friends and your golf ball as you play some of the prettiest holes in all of Las Vegas golf. Snow Mountain, the original, is highlighted by several holes that will be indelibly etched into your mind, including a solid three-hole finishing stretch. Another benefit to the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort during the late summer/early fall is that the courses are not overseeded and remain in good condition throughout the year.

The final three-hole stretch of Snow Mountain begins with the 180-yard, par 3, 16th hole that plays over water to a green that is also guarded by a bunker to the right. A view of the Sheep Mountains looms as a backdrop and reflects nicely off the water's surface.

The Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort is a public, Las Vegas golf resort that is open to all players. Click now to make your official Las Vegas golf tee times at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort. Snow Mountain was the original course, and was followed by Sun Mountain. The WOLF, known as the most challenging of the three, was the final piece to this Las Vegas golf puzzle.

Image The par 5, 529-yard, 17th hole of Snow Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort is reachable in two by the biggest of hitters. The hole starts with a tee shot that is played over shared water from the 16th hole, to a fairway that doglegs left. Several bunkers dot the journey to the putting surface, but the front of the green is open and you can easily go pin-seeking with your short approach shot following a lay-up.

The par 4, 445-yard, 18th hole is full of Dye finishing flair. The dogleg left hole is guarded the entire way by a lake to the left, and fairway bunkers place even more of a premium on a well-placed drive. The left edge of the green rests tantalizingly close to the water while a bunker right swallows up more than a few 'safe' shots. The clubhouse shadows the hole, and those in the restaurant/bar area enjoy amazing views of Snow Mountain in addition the vast desert that sprawls as far as the eye can see.

If you haven't tee'd it up at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, now is the time.
