NYTimes.com Writer Boasts about Las Vegas Golf Course The Chase Print E-mail

Image September 3, 2008--Las Vegas golf course The Chase at PGA Golf Club Coyote Springs is located about 50 minutes north of the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, and according to NYTimes.com writer Joe Passov, it is worth the trip. This Las Vegas golf course opened to the public earlier this year, and is a stunning visual design that blends very well into its desert surroundings. "This is a wonderfully low-key Jack Nicklaus design, with fast, undulating greens, an array of strategically deployed tattered-edge bunkers and just enough bells and whistles in the form of lakes, waterfalls and mountain views to lure potential home buyers to the new PGA Village at Coyote Springs," wrote Passov, who is also the architecture editor for GOLF Magazine.

"For low handicap golfers, The Chase is a handsome brute from the black tees at 7,471 yards. And it is an enjoyable treat for everybody else, thanks to fairways wide enough to accommodate the wind, yet firm enough to yield considerable roll.

The Chase is the crown jewel of Coyote Springs, a new master-planned community--a new city basically, that is going up north of the shimmering Las Vegas lights. When completed in many years, plans call for thousands of homes, parks, shopping, schools, and everything else that goes along with a city.

You can see some of the hole locations for the new course as you use the large practice facility at PGA Golf Club. The PGA Golf Club Coyote Springs is the western home of the PGA of America. And you can book your Las Vegas golf tee times online at CoyoteSprings.com.

The following is from CoyoteSprings.com: The Chase is the first golf course in a planned series of Jack Nicklaus-designed courses that will flow throughout the Coyote Springs community. The course plays to a par 72 and ranges from 5,349 yards from the forward tees to 7,471 yards from the championship tees. Eleven lakes come into play on the golf course many consider to be one of Nicklaus' finest desert creations.
