Las Vegas Golf Gets 'New' Course: TPC Las Vegas Print E-mail

Image December 8, 2007--When is old, new again? In the case of Las Vegas golf course TPC Canyons--forever forward now known as TPC Las Vegas--everything old is new again. The Las Vegas golf course, a PGA Tour golf course that has hosted the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour, is re-branding itself as TPC Las Vegas, and along with it creating a new, historic and welcoming atmosphere that will celebrate ALL that is Las Vegas golf. The TPC Las Vegas name change goes into effect this month, and over the next several months many new things will debut including a museum-like clubhouse that honors the history of the PGA Tour in Las Vegas, new logos, signage and apparel. But what will stay the same is the quality Las Vegas golf experience that the TPC Canyons--er, LasVegas--has always been know for. For more ...

"The main goal of this change would be to provide an even greater PGA Tour Experience for all of our guests and to associate the PGA Tour with the TPC Las Vegas," says Joe Massanova, Marketing Director. "By incorporating Las Vegas into our name, our course instantly gains more exposure and will become a primary option for any golfer looking to play in Las Vegas."

The name change also allows the TPC Las Vegas to fall into line with other world-class TPC golf courses including TPC Tampa Bay and TPC Scottsdale. TPC Las Vegas is a Bobby Weed design with consultation by PGA Tour player Raymond Floyd.

"As far as aesthetics and playability," says Floyd, who considers TPC Canyons among his best works, "I would put TPC (Las Vegas) up against any golf course you care to mention. It's as unique as they come and I'm very proud of the way it has turned out, especially given the challenges of designing a golf course on such a challenging piece of property. "But I think a golf course is kind of like a fine wine. The best come from the toughest pieces of ground."
