Champions Tour player Jim Colbert, and partners, opened what was then called Sunrise Country Club, and the club was a 54-hole facility for many years. The private club hosted the PGA Tour's Las Vegas Invitational, and in 1991, Chip Beck fired only the second 59 in PGA Tour history at the course. The course is currently closed.
