Las Vegas’ TPC Summerlin to Host ‘Birdies for the Brave’

TPC Summerlin--host of Las Vegas' PGA Tour event--is home to Birdies for the Brave Las Vegas, Nevada (May 4, 2010)--It’s really quite an honor: Here’s your chance to play golf at the private TPC Summerlin, one of Las Vegas’ best courses and owned by the PGA Tour, feast on a prime rib dinner and be part of a charity auction—and do it all to support U.S. troops. TPC Summerlin will again be the site for the ‘Birdies for the Brave’ tournament on Monday, July 5, and, in conjunction with TPC Las Vegas and the rest of the TPC family, will give players the chance to reach out and help those in need.--By Bill Bowman.

As part of the PGA Tour’s TPC family, last year’s event in Las Vegas raised $83,000 and they are hoping for more in 2010. That total helped TPC raise more than $2,000,000 nationwide that benefitted organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project, Homes for Our Troops, Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Operation Homefront, Naval Special Warfare Foundation and the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. "I am proud to be associated with the Birdies for the Brave and all of our military service branches, as well as service men, women and their families over the last five years,” said Chuck Bombard, general manager at TPC Summerlin. “It is amazing and extremely heart-warming, to see and hear what these brave men and woman do for us every day, to protect our wonderful way of life. It is the least we can do to thank all of those brave men, women and their families who risk their lives to protect ours. I hope, ask, and thank everyone who is able to join me in thanking all of our armed forces individuals on this special day we have planned.
