Las Vegas, Nevada (September 3, 2010)--When it opened in 2008, The Chase at Coyote Springs was immediately included on seemingly every "Best New Course" list of the major golf publications. This Las Vegas Golf Region course, located about 50 miles north of the Las Vegas Strip, was noted by Golf Magazine, Golf Digest, and Travel & Leisure Magazine, among other publications. The event is to feature four-player teams with one professional, and is being organized in conjunction with the Treasure Island Resort. The entry fee of $6500 per team includes 3-nights lodging for each golfer (single occupancy), two tournament rounds, reduced practice round rates, entry into a $10,000 poker tournament, other tee gifts, and a welcome reception, among other perks. Based on a full field, the professional first-place check is to be $4000, with the team purse being $3750. The Chase is the newest Las Vegas golf course to debut in the area. The Chase was rated as the #2 course on the Golf Digest and Travel & Leisure lists, while it was third on the Golf Magazine list. The Chase is a par-72 Nicklaus Signature Course that measures 7,471 yards from the Black or Championship tees (75.8 rating, 141 slope), 6,807 yards from the Blue tees (72.0/137), 6,268 yards from the White tees (69.7/132) and 5,349 yards from the Red or forward tees. The golf course has 11 water features, including one with a massive five-tier waterfall. Fairways, tees and rough are grassed in common rye grass, while greens are bent grass. Green complexes are fortified by deep, white-sand bunkers and feature plenty of movement and plateaus that are ripe for strategic pin placements.
