October 5, 2007--The Frys.com Open benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children, the PGA Tour event set to celebrate its 25th anniversary in Las Vegas, October 11th to 14th, is promising golf fans an up close and personal view of some of the game’s best professional players but is also creating an experience for the casual spectator that will make the annual PGA TOUR stop a signature Las Vegas event. The Hill hopes to take a cue from the FBR Open in Phoenix, where the 16th hole is more party spot than golf viewing spot. Annually, the pictures and atmosphere at the FBR Open are flashed worldwide complete with craziness, raucous cheers, golf babes frolicking, beverages flowing, and oh yes, golf shots being hit by the best players in the world every now and again. FRYS.com Open tournament organizers are branding the experience this year as “The Hill”, a luxury 22,000 square foot entertainment pavilion overlooking the 16th, 17th and 18th holes at Las Vegas golf course TPC Summerlin, and granting a panoramic view of the course, Las Vegas skyline and Red Rock Canyon.
In true Vegas fashion, guests will receive an incredible hospitality experience. Some of the city’s most popular restaurants will be providing a selection of foods – a veritable “Feast at The Hill”. Bars will also be set up and offering premium beer, wine and spirits for patrons. Guests can enjoy a lively and comfortable atmosphere resplendent with seating areas, tables and large screen televisions for keeping up with all the tournament action plus all of their other sporting interests. The Hill offers guests the best seats from which to enjoy the exciting finishing holes. The FRYS.com Open will also be played at Las Vegas golf course TPC Canyons on Thursday and Friday. The Hill project represents a significant commitment to the tournament’s future in Las Vegas and the desire to shine a spotlight on the Frys.com Open, elevating it from a golf tournament to an exciting event with something for everyone from the hardcore golf fan to the casual spectator. The Hill required aggressive engineering funded by the tournament and the generous donations and support of local builders. Taking advantage of a natural hillside, The Hill is beautifully architected in keeping with the course’s inherent beauty; utilizing caliche rock for retaining walls and creating terraced entertainment areas, some of which will be tented while others will be open air. Some of the restaurants featured in “The Feast at The Hill” include: Pink’s Hot Dogs, Planet Hollywood, Bradley Ogden (Caesar’s Palace), Mesa Grill (Caesar’s Palace), The Palm Restaurant, and Bleu Gourmet “The Feast at The Hill” will be available to all ticket holders at the tournament. The Hill will be home to ESPN, FOX Sports, 97.1 The Point and 92.3 KOMP on Thursday and Friday as they broadcast live from the event. Saturday is Military Appreciation Day at the tournament. Military personnel and their family members will receive complimentary access by presenting their IDs at the entrance gates. A variety of special services for military will be offered, including a hospitality chalet for military guests located on the 18th fairway. Once Saturday’s tournament play has concluded all ticket-holders for The Hill and our esteemed military guests will be invited to stick around and enjoy some lively entertainment at The Hill. The fun on The Hill culminates in the Hole-in-One Ferrari sweepstakes at the 17th hole on Sunday. The Ferrari is valued at $350,000 and one lucky spectator may drive it home. If no player scores a hole-in-one on the 17th, the Frys.com Open will be raffling off a complimentary entry into the tournament’s 2008 Pro-Am. The Pro-Am package is valued at $12,000 for this year’s tournament. Tickets for the tournament with access to The Hill are $15.00 for a day pass. However, capacity on The Hill is limited, so get your tickets now. Tickets and additional tournament information are available on the website at TheFrysOpen.com or by phone at 702-873-1010.
