February 13, 2008--TPC Las Vegas (formerly TPC Canyons) is a genuine PGA Tour experience in Las Vegas, and is a Las Vegas golf course where the best in the world have played and won PGA Tour tournaments on, including Jim Furyk and Hale Irwin, among many others. The course is open for play to all Las Vegas golfers, and now the head instructor at TPC Las Vegas PGA Tour Golf Academy, Las Vegas golf pro Sean Lanyi, says that a few simple tips and rules can help your game and lower you scores. "Follow the 20/20/20 rule and set aside 20 minutes to practice putts, 20 minutes for greenside chip shots and bunker shots and 20 minutes for full swing shots with a wedge, 7 iron, 5 iron or driver," Lanyi says about a proper warm-up routine. Complete Las Vegas golf packages and online Las Vegas tee times can be secured by visiting the TPC Las Vegas official website. For more Lanyi tips ...
More Lanyi Las Vegas golf tips Warm up Arrive at the course early to allow enough time to stretch properly. Create a warm-up game plan giving a blueprint of the shots to practice before tee off. When practicing, have numerous and different targets, use all the clubs in the bag and evaluate each shot’s ball flight and divot pattern. Playing in the wind Windy conditions often grace Las Vegas golf courses and Lanyi offers his advice on how to play best in the blowing breeze: Focus on a balanced and easy swing. Position more weight in the direction that the wind is blowing. Make solid contact by using more club, positioning the golf ball to the center or back of center in your stance, and slightly shorten the shaft by lowering hands on the grip.
TPC Las Vegas has many different instructional plans catering to juniors, ladies and men. From mini schools to private lessons and course playing instruction, Sean Lanyi offers a variety of training sessions. TPC Las Vegas is a 7,063-yard, par-71 Las Vegas golf course and was designed by Architect Bobby Weed and player consultant Raymond Floyd in 1996. As a host of PGA TOUR events and the Champions Tour in past years, TPC Las Vegas offers a stern test of golfing skills along with stunning vistas. In 2007, TPC Las Vegas was voted “Best Desert Course” by Vegas Golfer Magazine and was also named “Best Golf Course” by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
