Las Vegas Golfers Have Tough US Open Experiences


June 18, 2007--Las Vegas resident Dean Wilson was the top Las Vegas finisher at the US Open, but he managed only a 51st-place finish, after firing rounds of 76-74-076-75--301, 21-over par. Former UNLV All-American Chad Campbell finished in 57-place after rounds of 73-72-77-81--303, 23-over par.

The other three players with very strong Las Vegas golf ties all missed the cut. They were Jason Allen, a qualifier, who shot 80-81, Ryan Moore, the former NCAA Champion, who shot rounds of 78-73, and missed the cut by one shot, and Adam Scott, the fourth-ranked player in the world who managed rounds of 76-82 to miss the cut by several.
