June 5, 2008--The 17th hole at TPC Summerlin is arguably the most exciting place to watch the action unfold at Las Vegas' annual PGA Tour golf tournament, this year called the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, to be played October 16-19, 2008, at the private TPC Summerlin. And this year, tournament organizers have commissioned internationally-renowned artist Brent Hayes to create a limited edition painting depicting the par 3, 17th hole. The painting, entitled "The Hill at TPC Summerlin", will be given to pro-am participants at the event. "Brent Hayes is well-known for his ability to capture natural beauty and energy in his golf paintings," says Tournament Chairman Gary Davis. "His mastery combined with the impressive 17th hole at TPC Summerlin will no doubt result in a piece that stands out in any art collection and we are pleased to have him create an original work for this year’s event."
Last year tournament organizers created "The Hill", a VIP spectator seating area that offers views of the action of the par 5, 16th, and par 3, 17th holes, in addion to food, drink and plenty of other excitement. More fun and action is planned for this year. You can play in the official celebrity pro-am of the event that will include Justin Timberlake and other big names.
