September 15, 2008--Cascata is one of the best Las Vegas golf courses, and when it opened several years ago, a Sports Illustrated writer dubbed it "Golf's hidden treasure." Back then, Cascata, one of two Rees Jones-designed Las Vegas golf courses, was only open to a privileged few high rollers and invited guests, but soon after the opening, Harrah's Entertainment purchased the course from MGM Mirage and loosened up the restrictions on who could play it. But one thing that remains is that when you do tee it up at Cascata--Italian for water fall-- you will indeed feel like you are playing a treasure, and fortunately for us golfers it's not as 'hidden' as it once was. And on November 18, 2008, you can play this Las Vegas golf gem and help benefit one of Las Vegas' most worthy charities, Opportunity Village.
Join Opportunity Village at the fabulous Cascata Golf Course in Boulder City for a day of golf to benefit men and women with disabilities. Hosted by Harrah's Cascata, the Las Vegas Review-Journal, KTNV TV 13 and Desert GMC Buick Pontiac, this event is not to be missed. If you can't tee it up in this event, Cascata is a Las Vegas resort golf course that is open for play. Click now for Las Vegas golf tee times and Las Vegas golf packages. The day will start with a check-in breakfast and welcome, followed by a 10:00 am shotgun start and BBQ lunch at the end of the tournament. There will be a Hole-in-One contest with your chance to win a 2009 GMC Denali sponsored by Desert GMC Buick Pontiac. Individual players can play in this Las Vegas golf tournament for $600 while sponsorships are available from $5,500-25,000. Click here to view complete tournament information and to sign up. About Cascata from GolfCascata.com: Designed by renowned golf course architect Rees Jones, Cascata opened in 2000 and is celebrated as one of the finest designs in the world. Only 30 minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, Cascata is the ultimate in privacy, luxury and uncompromising service. From the moment you arrive our accommodating staff is there to ensure you have an unforgettable day. Few places on Earth offer such extravagance. A 418-foot waterfall flows from the steep mountainside, tumbling over mammoth boulders, cascading into a river that roars through the clubhouse, eventually culminating in a tranquil stream.
Cascata has been played by many celebrities, athlete and other dignataries including Michael Douglas, Tiger Woods, Craig Barlow, Phil Mickelson, John Daly, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kevin James and many more. Annually the course is part of the Tiger Jam, Woods' annual fundraiser, and this year the course is hosting events surrounding the Wendy's Three Challenge, an event that pits the LPGA, PGA and Champions tours against each other. Rio Secco Golf Club is also a Harrah's Entertainment Las Vegas golf course and host of the Wendy's 3-Tour Challenge. |
