The WOLF course is the Paiute’s reigning king and offers the most challenge and difficulty. Annika Sorenstam and Karrie Webb officially opened the course by competing in Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf, and shot 65 and 64 respectively. A few more forced carries and golf challenge separates the Wolf from the other two. Some Las Vegas golf aficionados call the Wolf the best golf course in Las Vegas. The par 3, fifteenth hole is complete with an island green and is golf course beauty at its best.
Snow Mountain is the original—and some say the best of the three--and features traditional Dye railroad tie-decorated bunkers and dogleg finishing holes. The 16th, a par 3, is a delight. The views and overall atmosphere of Snow Mountain are stunning, and one of the most scenic of all Las Vegas golf courses.
Sun Mountain was the second course, and like a middle child, works hard to stand out from the other two, and does it very well. Sun Mountain is a little tamer than Snow Mountain, but the holes are just as good. Many golfers--when playing Sun Mountain--feel like they are on the edge of nature due to the location of the course being completely away from the resort's interior.
In the more awards category, the resort was named as one of the top 27 courses in the West by PGA Magazine for 2006.
