Las Vegas, Nev. (Oct. 4, 2016) — We’ve all got to start learning this great game of golf somewhere. And with Las Vegas golf courses reaching out to help junior golfers, now is the perfect time. Nine Las Vegas golf courses will be host sites to the First on Course Learn To Play Golf Junior Instructional program, a 6-week session for boys and girls ages 6-12.–By Bill Bowman

To sign up, visit www.southernnevadajuniorgolf.com or call 702.430.2600.

The program will be held weekly during October and November. It is under the guidance of Southern Nevada Junior Golf and will teach kids the game–starting with the basics and progressing on as improvement comes.

There is a course near you that is taking part in the program. Courses that will be sites include: Aliante Golf Club, Desert Pines Golf Club, DragonRidge Country Club, Golf Summerlin’s Eagle Crest Golf Club, Las Vegas Country Club, Las Vegas Golf Club, Rhodes Ranch Golf Club, Siena Golf Club and Wildhorse Golf Club.

The program, which consists of six one-hour sessions, costs $75 per player. It is split into Level 1 and Level 2 sessions so make sure to check the course listings for times and dates for your course. Sessions are held weekly on the same day for each course.

The program’s goals are simple: To get young golfers new to the sport involved in learning the fundamentals in an on-course setting. Players of all skill levels are invited to take part and they will also learn about other junior programs available including PGA Jr. League Golf, the Las Vegas Junior Golf Tour and Youth on Course.

Programs such as the UNLV PGM Program, PGA of America, Southwest Section, SNGA, Southern Nevada Junior Golf Association and the Nevada Golf Course Owners Association have all played a role in helping get the word out with this new junior golf program.
