The first question we get about Royal Links Golf Club here at golflasvegasnow.com is, “Are the holes really like those in Scotland and Ireland?” Well, we’re Las Vegas golf experts so unfortunately we can’t answer the question definitively (but we love them) because we haven’t teed it up on any of the British Open courses. But what we can tell you is that we recently played at Royal Links in a Ryder Cup-style format that pitted about 20 Vegas business people against 20 blokes from across the pond, and every one of those blokes raved about Royal Links. Now if that isn’t a ringing endorsement we don’t know what is.

Royal Links Golf Club is like playing golf in a museum

If you haven’t guessed it yet, the holes at Royal Links were inspired by holes that have been played during the British Open. Holes from Royal Troon, Royal Lytham and St. Andrews are found at Royal Links. And the details are evident throughout your experience. You will hit over the scoreboard on the road hole; hit out of the deep-faced bunkers that the British Open is known for; and play the unique and tiny postage stamp green from Royal Troon.

GreensKeeper.org Real Golfer comment:

"It was as advertised, each hole a replica (if not exactly a duplicate) of a hole from a British Open venue ... I recommend you try it and enjoy truly outstanding fairways, well-kept and true-putting greens, and challenging holes that will have you praying that the wind stays down!

Royal Links succeeds in its mission to honor the rich tradition of the heartland of the game of golf, and it combines the traditional experience with all of the bells, whistles and five-star service expected of a course of this caliber.

It’s not just the holes that are inspired by the British Open. The clubhouse looks and feels like a castle, and authentic memorabilia and golf art decorates every nook and cranny. When you step into Stymies Pub, you feel like you’ve been transported to Ireland. And monuments and a re-creation of the Swilcan Bridge dot the landscape at Royal Links.

Royal Links was called one of the 10 best course you can play by Golf Digest in 1999, and recently was named Best Las Vegas Golf Course by the Las Vegas Review Journal newspaper. More Royal Links awards.

Royal Links is a Walters Golf course. Desert Pines and Bali Hai Golf Club are other Vegas, Walters golf courses. Package deals are available when booking multiple rounds at Walters courses.
