The Southern Nevada Golf Association recently held the Las Vegas Review-Journal Golf Classic at Sunrise Vista Golf Club. Winners were determined in the Net, Senior Net and Senior Gross divisions. The SNGA is just at the beginning of a season long tour with many of the area's best amateurs teeing it up at Las Vegas golf courses.
Christopher Lamb won the net division at -9 by a single shot over Eric Iveson. George Yocum was third at -6.
Howie Knodt won the Senior Gross championship with a two-day total of -10, with Brady Exber finishing second at -6 and James A. Massey finishing third at -3.
In the Senior Net Division, Gregory Ladner won at -15, while Massey was second at -11 and David Karrey was third at -4.
Southern Nevada Golf Association Tour events are played at many of Las Vegas' nicest courses including Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, Painted Desert, Las Vegas National Golf Club and many others. PGA Tour players including Edward Fryatt, Craig Barlow and Robert Gamez are past champions of SNGA events.
