April 5, 2006–Three PGA Tour pros with Las Vegas ties played in the 2007 Masters. Two former UNLV Rebels, Adam Scott and Chad Campbell, and Las Vegas resident Dean Wilson. Heading into the week, Scott was picked to win the event by some experts, and is coming off a big win at the Houston Open last week.
Unfortunately, none of the three challenged for the title, and Campbell didn't make the weekend. Scott ended up finishing in a tie for 27th at 12-pver par, while Wilson fired a final-round 78 to plummet from the Top 15 to end in a tie for 30th.
The week was highlighted with the pairng of Wilson and his college roomate, Mike Weir, on Saturday, but the two were less than thrilled with the conditions of the very tough Augusta.
All three pros have played and practiced at many Las Vegas golf courses including Shadow Creek Golf Club, TPC Canyons, TPC Summerlin, Southern Highlands Golf Club and many others.
