July 22, 2007–Las Vegas is known as one of the world's best places to spot celebrities, and catching a glimpse of them on some of the best Las Vegas golf courses, like Cascata (pictured), is nearly an every day occurrence. Within the past couple weeks, just a few of the names that have been spotted include Jason Kidd, Chris Webber, Kyle Korver, Clyde Drexler, Jason Terry, Corey Dillon, Tubby Smith, Lenny Wilkens, Charles Barkley and Michael Vick–yes, that Michael Vick–just before an indictment was handed down accusing him of animal cruelty, etc. Other celebrities who regularly tee it up on Las Vegas golf courses include Michael Jordan, Danny Gans, Kevin Sorbo, Greg and Mike Maddux, and many others.
Vick was spotted at the Tom Fazio-designed Wynn Golf and Country Club a few weeks ago playing a casual round of golf. Others spotted at the Wynn include Drexler, Steve Smith, Wilkens, and Tubby Smith. Wynn Las Vegas visionary Steve Wynn, and wife Elaine, are huge basketball fans and the Wynn Las Vegas has played host to Team USA as it prepares to compete in the World Championships later this summer here in Las Vegas. Team USA assistant coach and Syracuse Head Coach Jim Boeheim also tries to tee it up at Wynn whenever possible, given Team USA's busy schedule. Team USA members Michael Redd and Jason Kidd also teed it up at Wynn Las Vegas. Team USA was in town for a three-day training camp that concluded with a intra-squad scrimmage at Las Vegas' Thomas and Mack Center, home of the UNLV Rebels
Chris Webber of the Detroit Pistons hosted his 2nd Annual C-Webb's Bada Bling Celebrity Weekend at Caesars Palace that also included golf at Cascata, a stunning Rees Jones-designed golf course operated by Harrah's Entertainment, owners of Caesars Palace. Notables reportedly in town for the event included Moses Malone, Korver, Barkley, the rapper Nas, and many others. The event raised money for the Chris Webber Foundation that works to increase literacy in youth.
And Jason Terry and NFL running back Corey Dillon were spotted at Rio Secco Golf Club, another Rees Jones golf course owned and operated by Harrah's.
Unnamed members of Team USA were also spotted at Bali Hai Golf Club within the last week.
