September 12, 2007–The PGA Fall Expo is once again in Las Vegas, and about 50 club companies participated in a demo day at Royal Links Golf Club, one of three Las Vegas golf courses owned and operated by Walters Golf. More than 700 pros and other industry representatives descended on the Dye Designs International layout that pays homage to the holes used in the British Open rotation. The other two Walters Golf Las Vegas golf courses are Desert Pines Golf Club and Bali Hai Golf Club. Industry leaders such as Nike, Callaway, Wilson, Etonic and others were on hand to launch new products. "Demo Day has been a wonderful opportunity to introduce our new products by allowing PGA Professionals and buyers to actually test-drive the latest equipment that Wilson Golf is introducing for 2008," said Kevin Dorrington, regional sales manager, Wilson Golf.
The PGA Expo brings about 4,000 golf professionals an industry leaders to Las Vegas to meet and set buying agendas for the industry. Much of the new products consumers will see in stores are launched at these shows. In addition to the demo day at Royal Links Golf Club, there was a double shotgun tournament and every nook and cranny of Royal Links was complete with new clubs and products.
"This is a nice way to get the PGA Fall Expo week started – with a golf tournament and a Demo Day under the same roof," said Gerry James, PGA teaching professional at Palencia Golf Club in St. Augustine, Fla. "For PGA Professionals who want to see some new developments in equipment, exercise tools, shoes, accessories and everything else you can think of, demo day has been very educational. There is no substitute for showing a PGA Professional exactly how an exercise system works or how a new golf club hits the ball."
