
September 20, 2007–Some of the greatest golfers in the world are coming to Las Vegas for the PGA Tour’s 25th annual Fall Tournament taking place October 11 – 14 at Las Vegas golf courses TPC Summerlin and TPC Canyons. At the 2007 Frys.com Open benefiting Shriners Hospitals for Children spectators will cheer on some of the best golfers on the PGA TOUR. Leading the field is 2006 Champion Troy Matteson returning to defend his title. The field is also scheduled to include Davis Love III, John Daly, Lee Janzen, Mark Calcavecchia, Tom Lehman, Rich Beem, Lucas Glover, and international stars Jesper Parnevik and Shigeki Maruyama. The players will be competing for a $4 million purse, with the winner taking home $720,000.
The above listed golfers have a long list of accomplishments including Davis Love III – 19 PGA Tour wins including one major championship; John Daly – 5 PGA Tour wins in his career including two major championships; Lee Janzen – 8 PGA Tour wins in his career including two major championships; Mark Calcavecchia – 13 PGA TOUR title including one major championship; Tom Lehman – 5 PGA Tour wins including one major championship; Rich Beem – 3 PGA Tour wins in his career, including one major championship; and Lucas Glover – 1 PGA TOUR win and 2007 Presidents Cup Captain’s Selection.
The FRYS.COM OPEN benefiting the Shriners Hospitals for Children is part of the PGA TOUR’S Fall Series and brings some of the top players from the world of professional golf to Las Vegas. Past Winners include Greg Norman (1986), and Tiger Woods (1996), and the event is celebrating the 25th year of PGA Tour golf in Las Vegas.

The Frys.com Open continues a long history of professional golf in Las Vegas. The tournament was the first in PGA TOUR history to offer a $1 million purse and the first non-major tournament to offer a $5 million purse.
For Amateur Golfers, The Pro-Am portion of the tournament allows them direct access to these talented professionals as they are paired one-on-one with Pros for 2 days of golf competition at TPC Canyons and TPC Summerlin, two of the city’s premier golf courses. In true Vegas fashion, guests will receive an incredible hospitality experience. Some of the city’s hottest nightclubs and finest restaurants will be enhancing the tournament experience. This year also features the excitement of a Hole-in-One Ferrari sweepstakes at the 17th hole on Sunday.
