November 14, 2007–Following her first career win, UNLV women’s golf freshman Therese Koelbaek was named Golfweek’s Player of the Week on Tuesday. Koelbaek won the USF Richmond Country Club Invitational with a two-over 215 over three rounds, including posting a final-round score of two-under 69. Koelbaek helped the Rebels finish third overall at the tournament.

It was the first medalist honors for Koelbaek, a native of Holte, Denmark, who was playing in just the fifth collegiate tournament of her career. The win marked the 10th time that a Rebel golfer had won medalist honors in the school's six-plus years of golf.

The invitational was the last fall tournament for Koelbaek and the Rebels, who will resume play in the spring at the Wildcat Invitational on Feb. 25-27 in Tucson, Ariz.
