Image March 9, 2008–The No. 22 UNLV men's golf team shot a second-round even-par 288 on Saturday to remain in second place at the Southern Highlands Collegiate Championship, which is being hosted by the Rebels, the Las Vegas Founders and Las Vegas golf course Southern Highlands Golf Club. UNLV, which also shot 288 during Friday's first round, has a 36-hole total of even-par 576. Georgia leads the 15-team field at 2-under 574 after shooting a second-round 3-under 285. Charlotte is third at 2-over, USC, which led after the first round, is 4-over, while UCLA and Texas A&M are both tied for fifth at 8-over. UNLV junior Seung-su Han shot a 6-under 66 on Friday and is 3-under 141 for the tournament, which puts him in a tie for seventh place to lead the Rebels. Georgia's Hudson Swafford also shot a second-round 6-under and leads the tournament by four shots at 8-under 136. Five golfers are tied for second at 4-under.

Other UNLV team-counting second-round scores, totals and places: senior Matt Kinsinger, who led after the first round, (74, 2-under 142, 9th), sophomore Eddie Olson (73, even-par 144, T13th), sophomore Brett Kanda (75, 5-over 149, T27th) and freshman Ji Moon (76, 13-over 157, T65th).

UNLV players playing as individuals, scores and places: senior Brandon Loska (75, 5-over 149, T27th), freshman Jeremiah Wooding (70, 5-over 149, T27th), senior C.J. Gatto (80, 9-over 153, T50th), senior Jarred Texter (81, 13-over 157, T65th) and sophomore Johnny Pinjuv (81, 27-over 171, 80th).

The tournament features seven of the top-10 teams in the country, according to the Golfweek/Sagarin Poll, as well as six of the top-10 individuals. Additionally, the event features 14 of the nation's top-30 collegiate players and four U.S. Walker Cup team members.
