Image August 9, 2008–With the PGA Championship, the major for the true pro, being played, the thoughts here at Golf Las Vegas Now wandered to about 50 miles north of the Las Vegas Strip, to PGA Village Coyote Springs. The new area is now the western home of the PGA of America, the organizers of the PGA Championship. PGA Village Coyote Springs is home to Jack Nicklaus' newest Las Vegas golf course, The Chase, and plans for the area are visionary and ambitious. The Village is a part of the larger Coyote Springs, a new "city" being created from the desert, and plans for the completed project call for thousands of homes, several golf courses, and everything else that goes along with a city. "Together with The PGA of America, the PGA Village designation and the golf facilities that will be built at Coyote Springs, we have all the elements of a special community that is certain to become the next great American golf destination, literally next door to the world's most exciting vacation destination," says Harvey Whittemore, Chairman and Founder of Coyote Springs Investment, LLC.

Currently The Chase is the first course of what is the PGA Golf Club Coyote Springs, part of the larger PGA Village experience. The Chase is open and ready for you to play, and is a very visually creative golf course that lives up to all Nicklaus-design fanfare.  Already designed and readying for construction is a Jack Nicklaus/Pete Dye collaboration, the first of its kind. That course is scheduled to open in 2010.

About The Chase at Coyote Springs

Jack Nicklaus' Signature-designed course -The Chase – at PGA Golf Club is a challenging 7,471-yard layout and is the first golf course in a series of Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses that will flow throughout the Coyote Springs community. The Chase is a par-72 Nicklaus Signature design that measures 7,471 yards for the Black or Championship tees (75.8 rating, 141 slope), 6,807 yards from the Blue tees (72.0/137), 6,268 yards form the White tees (69.7/132), and 5,349 yards from the Red or forward tees. Eleven lakes come into play on the golf course many consider to be one of Nicklaus' finest desert creations ever conceived.

The Chase's lush rye-grass fairways are set against a dramatic desert backdrop, with mountain vistas in every direction. Green complexes are fortified by deep, white-sand bunkers and feature plenty of movement and plateaus that are ripe for strategic pin placements.

The pure golf experience at PGA Golf Club is enhanced by the club's caddie program. The caddies – PGA Golf Club Ambassadors – offer an invaluable service to each guest and provide the information and tools necessary for the lowest round possible.
