Image January 18, 2009–Trevor Derrheim is one of Las Vegas' best teaching pros and has ties to top Las Vegas golfers such as PGA Tour players Ryan Moore and John Riegger, and top amateur A.J. McInerny. But Derrheim is also making his mark with 59 Belts, a customized belt buckle company based in Las Vegas that caters to top pros and everyday players. “'59' is a revolutionary movement in style," writes Derrheim at 59Belts.com. "We have transformed the belt buckle, a clothing accessory that changed little over the decades, into a statement. '59' buckles symbolize our clients’ uniqueness and revolutionary attitude."

Derrheim teaches out of the prestigious DragonRidge Country Club, a private Las Vegas golf course designed in tandem by Jay Morrish and Dave Druzisky that overlooks the Las Vegas valley. His golf teaching company is called Pro-Motion Golf, and has built a solid following on the course. But with the continued expansion of 59 Belts, who knows who the next Tour winner will be who is wearing one of the company's belts. Those Tour pros who have had belts designed for them include Sergio Garcia, Lorena Ochoa, Mike Weir, Suzanne Pettersen, Adam Scott, Anthony Kim, SeRi Pak, Annika Sorenstam, Padraig Harrington and Vicky Hurst.

In late 2008, 59 Belts also established a partnership with the International Junior Golf Tour. The winners in each Age Division as well as the overall Male and Female Players of the Year at the IJGT Tournament of Champions will receive a personalized "59" buckle, belt and pouch. There are elements to the deal as well. "The fact that so many of the world’s best players are now wearing these customized belts speaks volumes to the company’s popularity," said Tour Director Michael Trino. "This agreement will offer our members both style and functionality that fits with their contemporary fashion sense."

59 Belts provides their own unique 59-style belt buckles in addition to flags, corporate and golf club designs. They also make apparel such as hats and t-shirts. "With pride and confidence we took our first batch of buckles straight to the LPGA Tour to be tested by more than 25 of the top professionals in golf," Derrheim also writes about the beginnings of the company. "Their enthusiasm was astonishing. We now make our customized belts for many of the world’s best players. We also customize belts for the most prestigious golf clubs and respected businesses in America. Our slogan,'The Revolution is at Hand', captures our approach to design and to life. We embrace the future. We strive for perfection. We are different. We invite you to make your own revolution in fashion with “59” Belts. Our style is made for you."

Much like the many customized belt buckles, on the lesson tee Derrheim works to a player's individual characteristics to have success in the swing process. “I explain what needs to happen to affect the ball flight, then I expand on what will need to change and how that should feel so my student gets a clear picture of the process and the desired end result," says Derrheim. "At the same time, I make a point not to overload my students with information that does not pertain to the task at hand. Slow steady improvement is the only formula for success.”
