Las Vegas, Nevada (February 19, 2011)–A few months ago, the management at Rio Secco Golf Club created a million-dollar hole-in-one contest giving everyday Las Vegas golfers the chance to sink a shot and win million dollars. Unfortunately, none of the 10 qualifiers made the shot on the par 3, 7th hole of Las Vegas golf course Rio Secco Golf Club, but they were winners before they took a swing. Each of the qualifiers earned a golf school experience at the Butch Harmon School of Golf plus rounds at Rio Secco and Las Vegas golf course Cascata. —By Brian Hurlburt.

Lynn Amos, from Charlotte, North Carolina, also walked away with a set of TaylorMade golf clubs for being the closest to the pin of the group on February 12. He plays out of Ballantyne Country Club and was overwhelmed by the opportunity. "This week was fabulous and they treated all of us like we were celebrities," said Amos. "Everything was first class all the way from the limo rides to the courses, the way they treated us the whole weekend, and everything. I highly recommend trying to qualify if you the chance for the next one." Butch Harmon served as the official host of the event.

Several thousand golfers entered the contest with most taking advantage of the "hit the green" promotion at Rio Secco, where golfers could wager any amount when playing the 7th hole. Anyone who did was entered into the contest. Those hitting the green on their tee shot also doubled the amount wagered with a gift certificate in the pro shop. To create even more excitement, management erected a replica Fabulous Las Vegas sign adjacent to the 7th tee. Plans are being put in place for the second event. Visit the official website of Rio Secco for more details.

Rio Secco Golf Club and Cascata are each owned and operated by Harrah's Golf. Rio Secco is also the home to the Wendy's 3-Tour Challenge and the WAC Golf Championships. Also located at Las Vegas golf course Rio Secco is the Butch Harmon School of Golf.

Cascata has been rated 29 out of 30 stars by ZAGAT and is annually listed on the top 100 golf course lists.
