Las Vegas, Nevada (June 3, 2011)–The 6th Annual Birdies for the Brave Las Vegas golf tournament is scheduled for August 15 at the private TPC Summerlin, a PGA Tour-owned Las Vegas golf course. As part of the entry fee–that goes to benefit military home front groups–golfers will also receive a free round of golf at TPC Las Vegas, also a PGA Tour-owned Las Vegas golf course. Another neat aspect of this event is that each foursome will be joined by a member of the military. A single entry fee is $250 while a foursome can be purchased for $895. A portion of each entry fee goes to the "sponsor a soldier" campaign that allows them to play in the tournament. Birdies for the Brave is the PGA TOUR’s primary vehicle for supporting the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. Since 2005, the TOUR has joined with PGA TOUR players and corporate partners to raise millions of dollars for military homefront groups that directly serve military men and women lost or seriously injured in performance of their duty, through fundraising events at TPC clubs nationwide. Net proceeds from this year’s event will be distributed by PGA TOUR Charities, Inc. to the following beneficiaries: Home for our Troops, Special Operations Warrior Foundation, Operation Homefront, Navy SEAL Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, United Through Reading, Military Warriors Support Foundation, and the Green Beret Foundation.
