Las Vegas, Nevada (September 21, 2011)–Bo Jackson could do it all on the baseball and football fields. And now the former NFL and Major League Baseball star is bringing his golf clubs to Las Vegas golf course TPC Summerlin. Jackson will join the celebrities and pros during the playing of the MGM International Resorts Championship Pro-Am. The event is Wednesday, September 28, one day before the PGA Tour pros hit the course for real with the playing of the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. –By Brian Hurlburt and PGA Tour press release.

Jackson was the first athlete to be named an All-Star in two professional American sports, and also was a standout athlete at Auburn University. He won the Heisman Trophy in 1985. He was selected in the 1986 MLB draft by the Kansas City Royals and also signed with the Los Angeles Raiders in 1987, competing with the NFL team following each baseball season. He played in the 1989 All-Star Game and earned the MVP award. that year he hit 30 home runs and collected 100 RBIs. Notably recognized for his “Bo Knows” campaign with Nike, Jackson has appeared in numerous commercials and various video games highlighting his superior athleticism.

Jackson will join, among others, Emmitt Smith, Cedric the Entertainer, George Lopez, and Timberlake at the private TPC Summerlin. TPC Summerlin is the sister course of TPC Las Vegas, a Las Vegas resort course operated by the PGA Tour.
