Las Vegas, Nevada (November 22, 2011)–More accolades continue to pour in for Mesquite’s Wolf Creek Golf Club. In the previous few months, the Wall Street Journal–Europe named the course among the “most fabulous” in the world, more than 340,000 fans voted Wolf Creek their favorite in a GolfDigest.com poll—beating the likes of Pebble Beach and Shadow Creek–, and now American Way, the official magazine of American Airlines, has included the course in their “Best of Golf” issue.--By Brian Hurlburt.
Marty Kaufmann, the travel editor for Golfweek Magazine, voted Wolf Creek, a Las Vegas Golf Region course, the Best Domestic Course for the American Way Golf Issue. This is what the editors wrote about Wolf Creek with Kaufmann’s input: “This exhilarating course 90 minutes north of Las Vegas cuts through a desert badlands of stark sandstone formations. Throw in a slew of dramatic elevation changes (the second tee, for instance, stands roughly 11 stories above the desert floor), and you’ve got a unique montage of arresting looks. ‘It’s perhaps the most unusual golf landscape in the country,’ Kaufmann says, ‘but don’t take that to mean it’s gimmicky. It’s difficult to think of another course that presents players with the chance to hit so many memorable shots.’”
