Michael Jordan Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nevada (February 26, 2012)–The Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational was held in Las Vegas for the first time in 2011. Following the success of year one, it was no doubt that year two of this golf tournament was coming back to the Las Vegas Golf Region and Shadow Creek. And now the event–hosted by Jordan and attended by an "A-List" of athletes and celebrities–is seeking volunteers. It will take place March 29 – April 1, 2012. –By Brian Hurlburt. @LVGolfInsider

We aren't sure exactly where you will be placed, but volunteers at other big golf tournaments can have some of the best seats in the house. Plus you will be helping out a great cause that is assisting several charities including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the James R. Jordan Foundation, among others. And hanging out for the week at Shadow Creek.

"ARIA and Shadow Creek are incredibly proud to welcome the return of the Michael Jordan Celebrity Invitational to Las Vegas," said Bill McBeath, ARIA's president and COO, in a statement. "We loved opening Shadow Creek to the public for the first time earlier this year for this spectacular tournament and very much look forward to welcoming back Michael, his fans and his celebrity guests. Most importantly, we are honored to be a part of an event that raises money for a variety of important charitable organizations."

If you are not interested in volunteering, tickets are on sale or sponsorship opportunities are available for the tournament. Since its inception in 2001 (it was held in other locales prior to 2011), the tournament has raised nearly $6 million for charities including Make-A-Wish Foundation, Nevada Cancer Institute, James R. Jordan Foundation and Cats Care, the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats' charity arm. Last year the four-day tournament and celebration boasting incredible parties, A-list entertainment and competitive golf, included celebrity and sports-star appearances by Jordan, Drew Brees, Wayne Gretzky, Ken Griffey, Jr., Anthony Anderson, Jerome Bettis, Roger Clemens, Larry David, Julius Erving, Jamie Foxx, Janet Jones-Gretzky, Kevin Hart, Brett Hull, Toby Keith, Toni Kukoc, Spike Lee, Mario Lemieux, Mike Piazza, and Alan Thicke, among others.

The event is hosted by ARIA.
