Las Vegas, Nevada (March 23, 2012)–Las Vegas Golf Region resident Ryan Moore had the shot of the day at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Moore aced the 201-yard, par 3, 7th hole. Moore used a 5-iron and the hole-in-one moved him to 1-under par for the day at the time. The ace also helped raise $1,000 through Birdies4Shriners sponsored by Shift4. Read on to watch the video of his ace.–By Brian Hurlburt. Follow @lvgolfinsider.

Moore was a 4-time All-American at UNLV, and won the NCAA title in 2004. He continued to live in the Las Vegas upon graduation in 2005, but left the area for a few years before returning in 2011. Moore also won the U.S. Amateur in 2004 while playing for the Rebels.

Moore is scheduled to play in the PGA Tour's Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in October in Las Vegas. He is also part of the brand new promotion created by Shift4 and the PGA Tour. The charitable endeavor benefits the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Amazingly, Moore was playing in his first official round since the announcement that the public could join in a promotion to raise money for the Shriners for every birdie, eagle or ace he makes.

While Moore is not affiliated directly with the Shriners organization, his relationship with Shift4 proved a perfect vehicle for the Birdies4Shriners campaign. From the start of the season until the final day of this year's JT Shriners event (October 7), Shift4 will track Moore's play and will make a financial contribution to Shriners for every shot he makes under par: $100 for each birdie, $500 for each eagle, plus the $1,000 for each ace.

As of this week, Shift4 opened the contribution opportunity to the general public. Participants can decide how much they'd like to donate for each birdie, eagle, or ace, and (if desired) set a maximum contribution for the season. (Shift4 has been making these donations since the beginning of this year's golf season, but those who sign up in the coming days will only donate based on Moore's performance in his remaining tournaments.) "Shift4 has been the title sponsor of our Public Safety Appreciation Station for the past couple of years, and I am tremendously grateful to them (and the Oder family) for putting this together and again showing how much heart they have," said Adam Sperling, the JT Shriners Open Tournament Director. "With the combined reach of Shift4, the Shriners Fraternal and Hospital network, along with the PGA TOUR, this is a program that could really take off. Even if it's only a quarter per shot, it's a fun way to support a great cause – and every bit makes a difference in the lives of so many children."

Founded in Las Vegas in 1994, Shift4 Corporation is the world's largest independent gateway, serving more than 20,000 clients in several industries, including Hospitality, Retail, Food & Beverage, Mail/Telephone Order, and e-Commerce. Boasting more than 350 POS/PMS integrations and maintaining absolute bank- and processor-neutrality, Shift4 is proudly merchant-centric, helping clients secure the best discount rates while providing industry-leading security, speed, and reliability.

"We've been involved with the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open for the past few years and have been looking for a way to increase our support," said Shift4 CEO Dave Oder. "With our endorsement of Ryan Moore last year, we thought we could connect the two – and help a great organization in the process. Every dollar donated goes straight to Shriners. They do wonderful, amazing work that changes the lives of so many young people across the nation, and anything we can do to help them is absolutely worthwhile."

Birdies4Shriners donations will be made directly to the Shriners organization with Shift4 providing the secure payment processing services for each donation free of charge.
