Las Vegas, Nevada (April 7, 2012)–With The Masters being played this week, it gets us looking ahead to October and the playing of Las Vegas' PGA Tour event, the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. In a little more five months, some of the same names dotting the Masters leaderboard will be in Las Vegas challenging to become the champion of the 30th year of the tournament. The Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open encourages the Las Vegas community to volunteer and assist in a variety of areas throughout the tournament including admissions, caddie services, marshals, standard bearers and more. With a $50 registration fee, volunteers also receive an invitation to the Volunteer Appreciation Party, a week-long tournament access badge, a commemorative gift and uniform including a tournament golf shirt, jacket and hat.
2011 Champion–and Las Vegas resident–Kevin Na made the cut at The Masters. As did Las Vegas resident Nick Watney, last year's runner up. Others making the cut at the 2012 The Masters who played Vegas in 2011 include Ben Crane, Jonathan Byrd, Kevin Chappell, and others.
Registration is now open to volunteer for the 2012 Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open at TPC Summerlin, Sept. 30 – Oct. 7, 2012. With the opportunity to witness PGA TOUR professionals in the city of Las Vegas while supporting the Shriners Hospitals for Children, tournament volunteers will also look stylish on the links with a special discount on NIKE golf shoes. The Lunar Ascend and Summerlite golf shoes from NIKE Golf are available for purchase in a variety of stylish colors for registered volunteers at less than half of retail price.
