Las Vegas, Nevada (June 2, 2012)–There are several Las Vegas Golf Region golf courses that have earned national recogntion as being Top 100 golf courses. But annually, the local Las Vegas Review-Journal conducts the "Best of Las Vegas" poll about area locations, people, shows, and, yes, golf courses. In 2012, Angel Park Golf Club and Shadow Creek earned distinction. –By Brian Hurlburt
Angel Park earned the praise of the readers by winning the reader's vote. LVRJ editors wrote the following about Angel Park: "The perennial Best of Las Vegas favorite returns to a spot it has held for 13 of the past 14 years (Highland Falls Golf Course bounces to second after bumping it off that one year). Angel Park offers golfers 36 holes co-designed by Arnold Palmer, a lighted putting course and a lighted Cloud Nine short course. And, of course, there are great views of Red Rock Canyon and the Las Vegas Valley, because really, what's the point of taking a long walk outdoors and not enjoying the view?"
Shadow Creek earned recognition by the editors of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Shadow Creek is an exclusive golf course that has been called the "world's best golf course" by Robb Report. It is owned by MGM Mirage and only guests at their hotels (MGM Grand, Bellagio, Mirage, etc.) are eligible to play it. It is now opened up annually for spectators for the playing of the Michael Jordan Celebrity Classic. As the LVRJ editors said, this is a "bucket list" golf experience.
